Seilly Riesling Vielles Vignes Schenkenberg  One of the best Rieslings I have tasted till date. The producer is relatively unknown outside France, but this wine is worth every penny.

Marchesi Di Barollo Barbaresco  Really gorgeous stuff. A great Barbaresco.

Jean Macle Côtes De Jura  A very unusual wine, for a select group of wine lovers. Its not for all.

Seilly Gewurztraminer Vielles Vignes Schenkenberg  A nice easy drinking wine from a relatively unknown producer of Alsace. His Reisling though, is great ......to die for.

Peppoli Chianti Classico Antinori  A nice simple easy drinking Chianti, that shines when paired with food. Good QPR.

Tenute Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva  A good Chianti from the very large stable of Antinori.

The Palatine  66% Merlot, 19% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18 months in 1 year old french oak. The 1999 Palatine is not as good as the 1996, but still a great wine nonetheless.

Château Moulin Haut Villons Fronsac  This wine is for lovers of oak.

 develish at 26th Feb 2007, 06:55AM
Terre Inconnue Sylvie Vdt  This wine is great representation of how a wine maker keeps balance, despite 16%+ alcohol (the label officially says 15%).

Henri Boillot Meursault Villages  Has depth and interest one struggles to find in wine, worth seeking out and paying for but needs thought whilst consuming.

Rèserve De La Comtesse  Great tasting wine, smooth oakey flavour with a subtle sweet edge. Recommended.

Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz  Almost Rhoney and interesting example of what is normally a one size fits all wine (Barossa valley Shiraz). Has real definition and class, stands out from the crowd and lights the correct path for Australian winemakers to follow.

La Casetta Valpolicella Ripasso  I was visiting a business associate outside Calco, Italy. We had dinner at a small restaurant outside of Calco called "Lardo" This wine vintage was a 2003. Found it to be an excellent choice with our meal of which the entre for me was a Lamb dish.
Since the price was built into a final bill, do not know actual cost. I have not been able to find a 2003 here in USA, but 2003 at around $11

Sucule Barbera D\'alba Lo Zoccolaio  Great, complex little italian number, best appreciated with food

Tesco Sancerre  Pleasant drop, not your average bottle of white from Tesco.

Saintsbury Rèserve Pinot Noir  Will cheer you up no end if you like Pinot

 Welshie at 6th Jan 2007, 05:55PM
Beyerskloof Pinotage  Strong flavoured South African wine yet easy going. Probably best with a meal rather than merely quaffing.

Kistler Vinyeards Chardonnay  Complex and intriguing. Powerful with great finesse

Château Guiraud Bordeaux Blanc  This lovely wine even impressed someone who swore has had enough of Sauvignon Blanc. Fantastic quality at an even better price

Cote Rotie Domaine Georges Vernay  Despite the vintage, this wine is delicious and one of the best Rhone wines i've tasted. Great producer, great quality.

Bleasedale Shiraz Bremerview  Lovely and sophisticated wine. One of my favourite examples of Shiraz

Marques De Riscal Reserva  Decent wine but a bit disapointing for Riscal, also a bit overpriced. Not all that impressed.

Marques De Caceres Rose  Not great but im not a fan of rose.
