| Henri Boillot Meursault Villages | Has depth and interest one struggles to find in wine, worth seeking out and paying for but needs thought whilst consuming.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() mustseeknee at 15th Feb 2007, 01:41AM |
| Blossom Hill Rosé | A hugely successful cash cow and commercially significant but appears to be more of an alcopop than a wine |
| Mouton Rothschild | A monster, will prove to be a great Mouton. This vintage is known as a special one on the right bank. This famous left bank 1st growth is currently trading at well below it\'s true value would be a great investment |
| Louis Latour Macon Lugny | You pay for the heavyweight bottle and fancy label rather than the contents! But plent of people do , I suppose it looks the part on the dinner table! |
| Chanson Pommard 1er Cru | Slighty artificial, lacking purity and balance for a relatively expensive wine. Better value to be found in the new world or other parts of burgundy. |
| Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Valmur D | Really starting to sing this shows the huge improvements made at the domaine in the last 5 yrs or so. It is also made with their own grapes and shows. Expensive but worth it! |
| Au Bon Climat Chardonnay | Lovely in an almost burgundian style a modern American classic |
| Moulin De La Lagune | Really classy claret for £12.99. Tastes like a grand vin when it is only a second wine. |
| Villa Maria 'wairau' Sauvignon Blanc | A good single vineyard example of what is now an internationally recognised style (Marlborough Sauvignon). For fans of this a must try. |
| Ch Margaux | A much better vintage in Margaux than further north of the Médoc - a hailstorm missed this geographically seperate commune and it shows. Currently retailing for £250-300 a btl, if you can afford it it's worth it! |
| Marc Colin St Aubin 1er Cru Murgers Des Dents | Not bad |
