| Argentinian Red Wine Famatina Valley | Very cheap in every respect. You get what you pay for. You could buy a case if you were having a bar b q for people you didn't care about![]() ![]() ![]() Rod at 11th Apr 2006, 11:35AM |
| Trio | If you like powerful, sweet and very fruity wines, then this is for you, at a good price, but subtle it aint. Rod at 11th Apr 2006, 11:22AM |
| Château Camail | At £7 perhaps you could do better for your money, but not an unpleasant wine |
| La Rose De Segur | At about a fiver this is a very good buy next time you are in France. Half a dozen bottles for a week in the gite would please most wine drinkers |
| Rèserve Des Confreres | This is from Laithwaites own vineyard, so it is well made and decent value. There is significant sediment , so decanting or careful standing and pouring should be considered. |
| Château Maison Blanc | A 2003 cru bourgeois medoc. An austere wine but a true medoc. Complex and well made Recommend several hours in decanting jug |
| Château Couronneau | 2003 was a fine Bordeaux vintage and at the price this is a fine result. Good conditions and skilled wine making make for a drinking pleasure Rod at 25th Mar 2006, 11:33AM |
| Anares Tinto Rioja | A pleasant enough bottle of Rioja that could not disappoint but couldn't excite. |
| Terrazas Alto Malbec | At £6.60, I think this is an excellent buy. Very well structured, layers of taste, length and fresh to the palate |
| Antu Mapu Carmenere | Not an expensive wine, not a common grape variety, well made and tasty, I thought this was great value for money and enjoyed it, as did the rest of the table of six. Try some! |
