| Ch Meaume | A well made if simple wine with some spice, medium body and an approachability which disarms.![]() ![]() ![]() BeckyF at 31st Jul 2006, 11:19PM |
| Torbreck The Struie Shiraz | This winery is producing stunning wines in the style of a supercharged CNDP. Whilst stylish they are unmistakedly Australian - a modern day classic which, when tasted, will surely be worthy of a big Parker score and could prove a wise investment now. |
| Stag's Leap Merlot | A classically supple and stylish merlot from this famous winery. Feels European but you know it's not, good value when compared to Pomerol! |
| J Prieur Volnays 1er Cru Santenots | A truly graceful wine which shows what Burgundy can acheive in a good vintage if carefully cellared. Now beginning to sing I think someone once said "like an iron fist in a velvet glove" - an apt description. |
| Oyster Bay Sauvignon | Crisp, grassy and lean. A simple wine, when will people start to get bored of this style? Good when it is on promotion not sure it's worth buying when it's not. |
| Tesco Finest Chablis | Not a bad wine not sure it warrants the title finest. Good richness balanced by lively acids and minerality, ideal Summer drinking. |
